Opinion Line (Aug. 2)

Kansas does not have to be a Republican state. We are the middle, the mean, the average, the balance of America. We can cast the sane vote, not for the insane.

We would become a better state and nation if political action committees were banned and churches stayed out of politics. The lies, misinformation and prejudice are killing us.

An independent on the ballot would be a miracle.

Have the Democrats considered that Hillary would be a prime target for blackmail from these countries that hacked her e-mail?

Do we really want our next U.S. Supreme Court justices picked by a man whose only judicial background is as a defendant in civil, divorce and bankruptcy courts?

The Democrats are very crafty. They think the only way they can win is to act like Republicans at their convention. To anyone who believes Hillary Clinton is “not here to take away your guns”: I have a bridge I’d like to sell you.

Any state that hosts “sanctuary cities” needs a wall built around it, as well as having all federal funds cut.

Yet another year of the Kansas Lottery handing Gov. Sam Brownback and the state general fund a fat payday. I’ve yet to see the anti-gambling crowd that voted him in demand he return that money.

Why would anyone go to a county budget hearing and get lectured by Commissioners Peterjohn, Ranzau and Howell? They don’t listen. They lecture you on why you’re wrong and they’re right.

Kellogg expansion means spending hundreds of millions of Wichita taxes to solve the rush-hour traffic problems for the rich folks in Andover and Goddard.

I am glad that I got the senior citizens’ discount at Graceland. How I would have preferred at least to have had to present an ID to confirm it. Getting old is tough.

That special feeling you get that makes you feel entitled to use your flashers and park in an area marked “no parking anytime” is called stupidity.
