Every political sign posted on public property should be removed, and the bill sent to the candidate.


Regarding “Cities defy Kansas law by yanking campaign signs” (July 25 Eagle): When cities determine to defy state laws without seeking the opinion of the courts, the door is open to a similar reaction by civilians who feel a particular law is not “right” for them. Katie, bar the door.


It’s against the law to put campaign signs on public property, but there are signs from candidates who are running for judge that disregard the law. Not a good example, as they will preside over lawbreakers.


How about having members of the Fire Department and Police Department cross-train? And then once in a while rotate from one department to the other, to give each insight into what the other faces.


The city should post pictures of dumped mattresses and furniture online, then offer a $500 reward for turning in the offender funded by a $1,000 fine paid by each offender. When you see people hauling these items, especially late at night, turn them in.


So many of the USD 259 employees are critical of our governor and Republican legislators, yet many do not live in the USD 259 boundaries or send their kids to USD 259 schools. It is easy to live outside and throw stones.


The highways that belt this city are just that – highways. If you have no intention of keeping pace with traffic, why are you up there as a moving roadblock? Keep up or get off.


To the person who said to use spell-check so text messages don’t look like a drunk typed them: You need to lower your expectations. It is very difficult to navigate Kellogg at 60 mph at rush hour and still type perfectly.


Just because one is employed by a company that does lawn maintenance, and does not speak English, does not give one the right to urinate in public. Maybe you urinate in your yard, but do not do it in mine.
