It would be good for our country if voters would ignore what Democrats say about Trump and ignore what Republicans say about Clinton. Make up your own mind.

I watched the Republican convention. All I saw was hate, fear and anger for America.

The GOP convention was a lovefest compared with the hatred that will be spread at the Democrats’ convention.

Donald Trump wants to lower taxes, especially on businesses. I suppose he thinks that will be a shot of adrenaline into the heart of the economy.

Trump’s New Deal: NATO countries, ante up. It’s pay to play now.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has shown his true colors, and they’re not red, white and blue. Cruz’s colors are gray for sadness, green with envy and yellow for contemptible. He’s a loser.

I am proud of Ted Cruz, and proud that I was able to support him financially.

The Republican delegates’ yelling of “lock her up” regarding Hillary Clinton was low-class, ill-informed, frantic, mean-spirited and reminded me of a mob. These are not very persuasive messengers of the Republican brand.

Hillary was a failure as secretary of state, as evidenced by the e-mail fiasco and Benghazi. Now some say we should promote her to president? It does not work that way in the workplace.

Susan Wagle spends so much time blaming others, especially President Obama, that she doesn’t do her job of leading the Senate in fixing what’s wrong with Kansas. And we all know what shape our state is in.

Our police now have body cameras, costing us hundreds of thousands of dollars to archive the footage. Why? Because of a few vociferous prevaricators. What a waste of taxpayer dollars.

Chief Gordon Ramsay’s idea for the cookout was brilliant. Kudos to City Manager Robert Layton for showing wisdom and taking the time to select him to be police chief. Ramsay is the right person for the job.

I beg Ramsay not to go to the White House and be sucked into the Obama administration’s pandering.

Please don’t complain about our men and women in uniform with your mouth full of barbecue.

I have a great idea: Let’s spend all our money on building Kellogg, and then wonder why we can’t afford good streets or a decent transit system.
