Donald Trump easily demonstrates that no amount of factual evidence will sway someone from deeply held beliefs.

Every allegation made against Hillary Clinton in her Republican opponent’s acceptance speech was completely Trumped up.

If you watched the convention and weren’t moved, almost to tears, and couldn’t come away inspired by the event, then just crawl under a rock and die already.

Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton discussed grandkids, as in “Hillary doesn’t want her grandkids to have to visit her in jail.”

Of course we blame the president for the growing racial divide. Obama looks for bigotry where it does not hide. He finds racism where none exists.

Senate President Susan Wagle blames Obama for anger and hostility toward police. County Commissioner Richard Ranzau blames Mayor Jeff Longwell for discord between the city and county. I’m sure this heat is Obama’s fault, too. Seriously, people, grow up. Own it.

How about showing a little respect for the authority of police, who daily put their lives on the line, instead of following the White House lead in adopting an un-American movement such as Black Lives Matter?

Until the majority of good, honest police officers acknowledge the harm caused by a minority of bad officers, there will be no peace. Saying a case is under investigation is not enough. They have to say: “We’re sorry. These bad cops are going to jail.”

Regarding “Women capable of making own decisions” (July 1 Letters to the Editor): The decision any woman has first is not to get pregnant. You will not convince me that abortion is ever the right choice.

If most people are so intelligent as to decide what to do with their own bodies, why aren’t they intelligent enough to do what is necessary so they don’t have to consider ending the life of the unborn?

Women can decide to have sex when they are ready to raise a child, abstain, use birth control. Adoption is a decision for life over death.

Why is it that most of the people you see at the anti-abortion lines are either men or married women? Where are the single women?

When you are in a crowd, a little courtesy goes a long way.
