Trump up in Kansas poll; Brownback still down

Many Kansans were shocked by a recent Zogby poll showing Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump in Kansas, 43 to 36 percent. After all, a Democratic presidential candidate hasn’t carried Kansas since 1964. Well, a new SurveyUSA poll, conducted for KSN News, Channel 3, is more in line with what most people might expect: Trump was leading 47 to 36 percent among likely voters (51 to 37 percent in the Wichita region). Gov. Sam Brownback continued to fare poorly. His favorability rating in the poll was only 22 percent, with a 72 percent unfavorable rating (23 percent favorable and 71 percent unfavorable in Wichita region). Even among Republicans, Brownback’s favorability rating was only 36 percent. – Phillip Brownlee
