Opinion Line Extra (July 18)
Donald Trump’s supporters are divided into two groups. One group wants to send the country back to the 1950s; the other group wants to send us back to the 1850s.
All the media attention given to Trump’s insulting remarks is like a bad kid getting all the attention. He doesn’t need to raise campaign dollars for ads. I can’t believe anyone would want this guy in the Oval Office. Ridiculous and scary.
I gather that Trump’s three adult children exert great influence on his decision making. Wouldn’t it follow that the junior Trumps would exert great influence on their father’s decision making as president? Do we really want the privileged Don Jr., Ivanka and Eric as the decisions makers for our country?
Hillary supporters must not care how many times she lied to them, or they aren’t smart enough to recognize them.
Suppose Hillary wins the role of U.S. president. Would she continue to use her personal e-mail service and decline use of official government secure service? Oh, well – she can’t be touched by rule of law no matter what she does.
President Obama used his speech at the memorial service for the Dallas policemen as a platform for a statement on race and race relations. It should have been about the sacrifice of these brave individuals. Sad.
Obama isn’t incompetent because he is a black man. He is incompetent because he is incompetent.
In recent days, I’ve read comments that our black president has divided this country. Wrong. It is the hatred some Americans have for any race other than white that has divided this country.
I have heard enough whining from the few who say schools don’t get enough money. Are they capable of explaining why the U.S. spends more on education per student than any other developed country, yet U.S. students don’t excel above the others?
To the Wichita police: Spend a morning watching the speeders on Woodlawn north of Central, and you’ll have enough money to fill the city of Wichita’s coffers and a little left over for Sam Brownback.
Maybe we should abolish daylight saving time. That extra hour of daylight is surely contributing to global warming.
Already this ridiculous PokemonGo thing is proving to be disruptive and dangerous. In the Holocaust museum? Seriously? The whole thing is pathetic and sad, and it’s a disgrace to see adults walking around doing this.
This PokemonGo craze is sad. People can’t even go outside for a walk now without an electronic device to direct them? How pathetic we have become.
