Opinion Line Extra (July 16)

The primary killing instrument used in the senseless terrorist slaughter of innocent people in Nice, France, was a truck. It is obvious now that the government should outlaw the production and selling of that particular truck model line.


Funny, I don’t remember conservatives complaining about Justice Antonin Scalia when he made frequent political comments during speeches around the country.


Hillary Clinton should sue all the Republicans involved in the false accusations against her for defamation of character, slander and harassment. Three Republicans readily admitted that the Benghazi farce was a tactic to try to ruin her chances to be president.


It’s time for the younger generation to wake up. The Sanders supporters are now going to vote for Hillary because she promised them all free college. No one should believe a word she says, or believe that a country so deep in debt could afford this giveaway.


I ask our congressional representatives to take steps to prevent the president and federal agencies from using federal funds to blackmail states into submission. Those funds belong to the American taxpayer, not the feds.


Defending a politician you support by explaining how their actions are the same as the terrible actions of the opposing party isn’t a good thing. What a bummer that all we can do is say, “Your candidate is worse than mine.” I wish mine could be better than yours.


Recalling Brownback may not be realistic. But we can clip his wings by voting out any and all Kansas legislators who continue to support his disastrous policies, and we can give him a good old poke in the eye by retaining all of our state’s Supreme Court justices.


Whenever I am having a bad day and really feeling depressed, I think about how much worse those Kansans must feel who voted for both Brownback and Kobach.


Violence stems from too much government control and an unfair economy.


Registration for the Selective Service is obsolete, so get rid of it. The volunteer military has worked great since 1973. But if it is still required for men, then women must also register. Equal opportunity.


Why do people think this pope is so great when he is against so many of his own church’s teachings? Being a socialist overrides everything?


When executing a right-hand turn from the roadway into anyplace else, substantially reducing your speed will safely allow you to complete the turn. But it shouldn’t take you a half-hour to do so. Don’t dawdle. Turn and go.
