Opinion Line (July 13)

With all of the gun violence we subject our law enforcement officers to, we should double their wages and make the NRA pay for it.

What if Lee Harvey Oswald had had an AK-47?

Black Lives Matter says the group should not be judged by one assassin in Dallas. This as it was protesting and chastising hundreds of thousands of law enforcement officers for the actions of a few. The irony.

We have had enough Black Lives Matter marches and protests. It is time for some “White Police Officers’ Lives Matter” marches.

President Obama should apologize to citizens for the racial divide he promoted over the past seven years.

Anyone who thinks President Obama is divisive hasn’t been paying attention for the past eight years.

Can’t we all just get along?

I’m proud of County Commissioners Karl Peterjohn, Richard Ranzau and Jim Howell for standing for the law and the Constitution concerning illegal immigrants’ use of legal citizens’ funds. Ranzau’s statements were truth.

I hope the new library will offer me the knowledge I need.

In the U.S., we tear down 50-year-old buildings (example: public library). In Europe, a 100-year-old building is considered new.

The people who complain about the new library must be old grumps, or unable to appreciate new things for the future. I can’t wait to be one of the first to go through its front doors.

The fact that some think Google is equivalent to a library is proof we need good libraries.

The new water park at Buffalo Park looks very nice and will keep kids (and us bigger kids) a little cooler during the summer heat. Plus, no lifeguards. The city should consider this for more parks.

Thank goodness for the urbanization of coyotes. May they dine on all the squirrels and raccoons in my yard.
