Opinion Line Extra (July 12)

Why are we so shocked when we hear about another shooting massacre? People in the Old West used to shoot up stuff all the time.

These mass “protests” look for all the world like mass disorderly conduct. I say arrest them all. If they put up resistance, move in the National Guard and take them down with overwhelming force. There’s nothing to protest – go home and behave yourselves.

If I am ever shot, I hope that my girlfriend will attempt to give me first aid, as opposed to videoing me with her cellphone as I lie beside her bleeding to death.

Brian Williams was sent into exile because of all his lies, and now he’s back. Maybe he should be Hillary Clinton’s vice president. Neither one can tell the truth.

I can now relax that Hillary got away with the garbage she was spewing. We can all tell our children all will be OK and secure in their future, run by someone we cannot trust with our national security.

If Hillary is elected, I wonder if she will appoint an ambassador to Syria. Obama will need something to keep him busy. Maybe Rachel Maddow or Chris Matthews will be available.

The Benghazi investigation is over, right? Oh, no. The Republicans intend to investigate whether Clinton lied to Congress about whether there were any classified e-mails sent on her private server. When that fails to bring about the desired result, they’ll surely open an investigation on FBI Director James Comey. And on, and on.

“We have no basis to believe she lied to the FBI,” Comey told the congressional hearing. Asked about classified e-mails, Comey said there were only three messages – each of which was not properly marked classified when she received it. That hardly seems like a scandal.

To the reader who thinks it’s just old ladies complaining about fireworks: Maybe it’s the 50 percent of the people who have a job and actually have to get up and work for a living instead of just voting for one.

Sorry, I’m just an “old man,” but my peace and quiet, obeying the law, and observance of the birth of our country should hold priority over your tromp-on-everyone’s-else’s-rights “celebration.”

Regarding a TV commercial: Apparently, city boys don’t know the difference between a bull and a steer.
