The Kansas Chamber of Commerce was quick to forgive state lawmakers who voted last year for the largest tax increase in state history. Its political action committee endorsed many of those Republicans in the Aug. 2 primaries – but not Democrats who voted against that tax increase (which disproportionately hurt lower-income Kansans). However, the chamber PAC endorsed only a couple of the House Republicans who supported a failed attempt this past session to roll back the tax exemption on pass-through business income. – Phillip Brownlee
