Opinion Line Extra (July 1)

Have you noticed your Wichita City Council can’t even take care of something as relatively simple as graffiti? How can you think it can accomplish something even bigger and more important, such as finding and bringing more water to Wichita?


Alert: Contact the DEA. There are people who want to put homeless people in $60,000 backyard sheds. Truly these people are abusing drugs.


To the whiner about fireworks in a lake community: First, it is a retired sandpit. Second, get over it and let people have fun. Long live America. Don’t like it? Then leave.


I need a rocket launcher and a working tank to protect my family. Why can’t the activist NRA help me out? Tanks don’t kill people. People do.


I believe people who aren’t allowed to vote should not be allowed to buy a gun.


I feel like a sane man in an insane society where fear trumps reason, hate trumps compassion, division trumps diplomacy, and money trumps character.


Hillary Clinton wants to increase trade programs and send more jobs overseas. This is not what Americans need or want.


If we the people choose so-and-so for president, then who are other politicians within the same party to say they can’t support that nominee? If you don’t support the people’s choice, then leave the party.


No man or woman with a conscience could ever vote for Donald Trump.


We have seen what uninformed emotion has done to the U.K. and the markets. We have seen what that ignorance has done for Kansas. Shall we elect someone who cannot see beyond their own self-interest to run the country like Kansas?

Are you paying attention? We in the heartland are in the same situation as the Brits – under career politicians and bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. We desperately need term limits and balanced budget amendments to our Constitution.

It seems ironic that Bob Dole is criticizing the nasty tone of the Huelskamp and Marshall campaign ads. As I recall, no one ran nastier, more mean-spirited attack ads against his opponents than Bob Dole.


Capitalism has officially changed its name to: “I Get Mine, You Might Get Yours.”


If I were a believer, I’d be praying for five nights of severe weather this weekend. The almost total anarchy is just too much to bear.
