A lot of people thought Donald Trump’s presidential campaign would be a short ride. More than a year later, the real estate mogul is the presumptive GOP nominee. And Kansan Alan Cobb, an early hire as an adviser, is still on the team and was named Tuesday as Trump’s director of coalitions. In that role, he will organize and manage groups supporting Trump. Cobb formerly was Kansas state director of Americans for Prosperity, lobbyist for Koch Industries and campaign aide to Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., and Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Wichita. He also helped defeat Wichita’s 1-cent sales tax in 2014. – Rhonda Holman
