Opinion Line Extra (Feb. 2)

The president’s “middle-class economics” are a failure. His policies have caused the middle class to shrink, with fallen real incomes and net worth. Income inequality between the middle class and the rich has never been greater.

Some people believe they should be completely free. However, what they don’t understand is you have to give up certain freedoms to live in a society. My suggestion to them: Move to your own island and you can have all your freedoms.

Well, what do you know? Having stopped running its own candidates, the Communist Party is now pushing and supporting Democrat Party candidates. I guess that really shows how far the Democrats have moved to the left and why I no longer support and vote for my old political party.

Somebody thought it was awful the way our president disrespected the Republicans? When the main thing they have done for six years is put him down, give him no credit for all the good he has done for us, while they stonewall and obstruct and crab and whine? Give me a break.

Thank you, Federal Reserve, for printing all that money for the past half dozen years. Although, Fed, if you print some more, I wouldn’t mind you sending it directly to my bank account instead of sending it to the enormous bank where my bank account is.

Why are we always treated with politicians and their shovels and hard hats whenever a new building is started?

Grover Norquist needs to find work to occupy his time and stay out of Kansas’ legislative affairs.

Dear Governor: Sunsets and tornadoes are not official attractions. America’s young and talented require progressive playgrounds. Build it and they will come.

Moving local elections to November should be a local decision, not a state decision. And yet the governor and his staff continue to complain about Washington overreaching its authority. Talk about hypocrites.

Kris Kobach again insults the intelligence of Kansas voters. People who show up to vote intentionally don’t choose candidates in all races for a variety of reasons. I do this and it’s not in order to finish voting 30 seconds sooner. What a partisan jerk.

Here’s some family values for you: Raise your own family; feed, shelter, school your own family.

I suggest the individuals harassing the waitress for dating a black man move to Missouri, where most of the bigots live who left Kansas.

I’ve sold windows for 30 years. Guess what – they all leak, they all have air infiltration, they all require maintenance, they all sweat if the conditions are right and they all will eventually have to be replaced with a high cost to do so. Get over it.
