“When your greatest legislative achievement is passing one of the most contentious provisions in the 113th Congress – a Dodd-Frank rollback that lobbyists literally helped write – taking credit for the legislation is a delicate art,” CQ Roll Call reported about U.S. Rep. Kevin Yoder, R-Overland Park. Yoder argues that the new rule, which he tucked into last year’s omnibus spending bill and allows banks to trade energy and agricultural commodities, is a modest but needed fix. He also said that he got the provision’s language from another lawmaker – though Citigroup lobbyists drafted identical language to what was eventually enacted, Roll Call reported. – Phillip Brownlee
