Opinion Line Extra (June 25)

Ever notice that when the use of an assault rifle by a civilian makes the headlines, it is employed to offend, not defend someone?

I am so filled with sorrow. I want to live in America again. I am tired of living in the radical right’s ’Murica, where mass shootings happen regularly and dimwits call for more guns.

If gun control had any impact on gun violence, Chicago, UCLA and the gun-free club in Orlando would be the safest places on Earth. Clearly they are not, and clearly more gun control will have zero impact on gun violence.

I would respect the paranoid pro-gun people if they viewed the pictures of the dead children at Sandy Hook, the Orlando victims, the Colorado theater murders and the others. Multiple pictures of blood, gore and death might mean more than their Second Amendment rights.

It is sad to see the distortions and even lies by the Obama administration as it tries to twist the facts of tragedies to fit its political narrative. The Orlando horror is the latest example. The public is getting smarter about this, and is well-served when the media call out these manipulations.

Obama and Clinton – the same people in favor of setting people free from prison and letting terrorists and murderers out of Gitmo – say the solution is to take away guns and the constitutional right to bear arms from the citizens.

Hillary Clinton’s crew are not big supporters of the Second Amendment. However, they seem to really like the Fifth Amendment. Her computer guru pleaded the Fifth more than 125 times in a deposition about her home-brewed server. Clearly nothing to see there, as she has said for the last year.

I just finished a book on Custer. His ego and need for grandstanding ultimately led to his demise. I thought I was reading a book about Trump.

Senate Republicans can’t chance it that Obamacare might succeed, so they put every obstacle imaginable in its way. Never mind that it’s saving lives – this is politics. Each of them is like a football player who breaks huddle, then immediately announces the upcoming play to the defense. Americans deserve better.

Once upon a time I shopped at Dillard’s and could afford it. I just did some shopping at Dollar General. I barely afforded it. My wages have stayed the same for several years. Prices have gone up. I used to be middle class.
