Opinion Line (June 25)

Addiction is not a happy place, whether it be to a substance or a viewpoint.

Only Donald Trump can pat himself on the back and cry at the same time.

Trump is making former President George W. Bush look like a genius.

A great deal of the national press is so in the tank for Hillary Clinton that they have to wear life preservers when they cover her.

I am 66. I have never been more proud of our Democratic representatives and senators than with the stands of strength and cohesiveness I have seen in recent days. This is what our American democracy is about.

After each mass shooting, the NRA needs to have a logo or graphic during the TV coverage saying “brought to you by the NRA.” It’s missing a marketing opportunity.

If more gun control would reduce gun deaths, why does Chicago, with its strict gun laws, have so many gun deaths? When a gun dealer wouldn’t sell body armor and ammunition to the Orlando shooter and reported it, why didn’t the FBI get the guy?

Murderers should not face the death penalty. Lock them up for life. They should be the object of intense mental study. If they were all studied and the information combined, we would have a better ability to identify potential killers and save lives.

I would like to know how many illegal aliens are in Wichita, with their addresses. I want to bring my cousins here illegally from Australia to get free benefits. I want to talk to one and learn the ropes for a free ride.

Here comes the Fourth of July, with all the illegal fireworks that people are shooting off on their beach in our lake community. It’s unreal what took place in 2015. Phone calls will be coming by the dozens from us.

Thanks for the front-page article on something positive (“After four long years, her boy is home at last,” June 20 Eagle). Blessings to Thalia Jeffres and Changa Changa.

Jeff Goldblum is proof that no matter how homely you think you are, there is somebody out there who is worse-looking and has been successful anyway. I take comfort in that.
