Laws do not stop illegal use of fireworks in Wichita. Why do you think they would stop criminals or terrorists from getting guns?

Both Sens. Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran voted against legislation to keep suspected terrorists from buying guns. Are they concerned about possible terrorists’ gun rights, or about the $23,000 donations they each received from the NRA?

Independent, nonpartisan courts and law enforcement agencies have stood between us and anarchy or tyranny. We have followed the rule of law, not the whims of strongmen who rule by the sheer weight of their personality. Let’s not change that.

I can get nostalgic for Susan Peters and Cindy Klose. I don’t think I’ll have that problem with President Obama.

Who is paying for the digital signs telling me how many minutes to downtown, etc.? Do we really need to know this information? I would rather the city use the money for the homeless.
