Opinion Line Extra (June 19)

If just one of you Einsteins could tell me how gun control is going to keep anybody from selling a gun to someone who wants to commit mass murder, then maybe I could support it.

Pooh on gun control. It seems to me if some of the people in that Orlando bar, as well as the bartender, had had guns, not so many would have been killed or injured.

England is a “gun-free zone.” How did that work out? The bad guys will still have guns.

Who equates the “need” for an AR-15 with the “need” of a Corvette? The reason for the “need” of one of them is to maim or kill whatever it’s pointed at. We can hope most people would know the difference in the reason for those “needs.”

Opinions and comments that equate weapons for killing with vehicles for transportation don’t deserve to see print. On the other hand, the Corvette can kill – probably its owner.

I understand the paranoia about our government, but to suggest that limiting the right to purchase an AR-15 is similar to a Corvette blows my mind. I guess I’ll understand it when a mass murderer enters a nightclub or movie theater or school with a Corvette hidden in his clothes.

Obama is so full of “straw men,” he should take care around open flames lest he explode into flames, too.

This is to all of you haters of Obama: When he leaves and things go bad, which they will, whom are you going to blame? If you still blame him, then I can blame George Bush for things he did or did not do. Like the Iraq War. Right?

Someone said “just wait until one of the cronies is in the White House.” Did you just discover politics? That wait has been over for years.

I must grudgingly admit the Donald is right about one thing: John McCain is a loser.

Gov. Sam Brownback’s spokeswoman Eileen Hawley stated that Brownback “has great respect for the Legislature’s constitutional power of appropriation.” What about his secret power plant deal? I can’t stop laughing at this woman.

So Rep. Blake Carpenter was offended that the legislative liaison for Kansas Families for Education compared him and his fellow lawmakers who are fighting the fair funding of public schools to “deadbeat dads”? Sorry, but if the shoes fits, wear it.

I guess being the wife of a basketball superstar allows you to spew forth your version of ignorance about the game.
