Orlando is another example of how gun-free zones mean sitting ducks. You can’t honestly say a good guy with a gun wouldn’t have saved lives since he or she wasn’t allowed to enter the place. Armed citizens save lives.
I think it would have more impact if we passed a law against murdering people.
Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy filibustered for 15 hours to force a vote to try to keep terrorists from getting guns easily. Republican Sen. Ted Cruz filibustered to shut down the government, while reciting from “Green Eggs and Ham.” Any difference?
We hear Americans say the world’s 1.6 billion peaceful Muslims should unite in protest against the Islamic jihadists. But imagine demanding that the world’s Christians unite against such a group. Christians have fought whole wars with each other over their differences.

Regarding Rep. Mark Hutton’s prediction that lawmakers will “spend a day or two beating the crap out of the Supreme Court and each other”: I’d prefer that instead of the legislators spending a day or two beating up on the Supreme Court, they beat up on each other. Maybe knock some sense into themselves.
