Opinion Line Extra (June 17)

I wish just once President Obama would show the passion denouncing a terrorist act that he does describing Republicans.

The ostrich left rejects the term “Islamic terrorism,” saying it is an incorrect expression, a misnomer. Meanwhile, major Islamic terrorist attacks occur every few months within the U.S. and around the world.

Will the NRA spend the same amount of money defending “gun violence” as it did defending “gun rights”?

The Second Amendment is not a suicide pact. We already agree that the Second Amendment does not guarantee people the right to own hand grenades or RPGs. Similarly, there is no one who “needs” an AR-15. Making them readily available to every wannabe terrorist is insane.

Once again, like clockwork, the left is using the Florida tragedy to advance an authoritarian gun-control agenda, and blaming people and groups that bear no responsibility whatsoever. It’s frightening how many idiots are jumping on board, demanding that we ignore the Constitution.

Just because criminals or terrorists could be able to get guns illegally doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to make it harder to get them legally. After all, we lock our doors, even though burglars can get in if they really want to.

Conservatives long for the good old days when we rounded up Japanese-Americans and put them in internment camps.

Not successful at anything. Lived off tax dollars and gifts from foreign and domestic “donors.” Never took risks with her own money, but feels good about using yours. Never built, designed or produced anything of value. But foolish supporters say Hillary Clinton is experienced – like the last “successful” Democrat we elected.

So while Sen. Jerry Moran is against employee overtime pay, the Kansas Legislature is ready to eat it up.

I’m tired of commercials telling people what they have a right to and what they deserve. You only have a right to it, or deserve it, if you earned it.

Last week I had one of the best-looking lawns in Wichita. After only a few hot days and no rain, my lawn was turning brown. The fescue that I have was touted as being “drought resistant.” I want my money back.

If I were the owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, I would tell Eric Berry to take a hike. The incredible greed of many of these professional athletes is appalling.
