Opinion Line Extra (June 14)

The Republican Party insisted Trump sign a pledge of allegiance to the party’s nominee. That some Republicans are now threatening not to back him is exactly why he is doing so well and why the party itself is so out of touch and so in trouble.

The only thing bigger than Donald Trump’s ego is his big mouth. Having a clown like that as president would be a total embarrassment to this country.

Trump has shown his true colors with his unfiltered mouth, and no matter how the GOP tries to backpedal his behavior, the horse is out of the barn.

I swear Trump is getting nuttier by the day.

Anyone who has had a security clearance knows that Hillary Clinton is not smart enough to have one. If she’s not smart enough to recognize sensitive information and have it marked as such, she should not be trusted with a clearance. Kansas senators: Do your job. Pull her clearance.

If the Republicans had been recorded mobbing, chasing and throwing eggs at peaceful political rallies, it would be front-page news. When is The Eagle going to show this?

So you are a Republican who worships Jesus? Please tell me more about how you plan to cut programs that feed the hungry, heal the sick and care for the elderly.

The Republican Party is the party of peace? Maybe the person who wrote that is unfamiliar with Shelley Shannon and Scott Roeder.

There is no such thing as cheap labor. We (taxpayers) pay dearly to subsidize those who work for less, a lot more than we realize.

What? Our Legislature’s refusal to adequately fund public education might result in Stan and Ogre missing Coach Harris’ practice? Quick, guys (and gals) – fix this. You know when and where to meet, and don’t forget your standard-issue tea party flashlight. As usual, keep this on the down-low.

Time and again, the talking media heads have said the Stanford swimmer “sexually assaulted” the drunken woman. It was a rape, folks. Call it a rape. He’s a rapist.

Reverse racism is alive and well in TV advertising.

To all the Wichita drivers who whine and complain about others driving too fast on the roads: Could it be that you are driving way too slowly? While at the speed limit, I go past many people and am totally blowing their doors off.

Fortunately, this is the first year the stupid River Festival has not annoyed me at all. By the grace of God, it came and went without notice. Awesome.
