Reps. Mike Pompeo, R-Wichita, and Rick Larsen, D-Wash., wrote a joint commentary in the Hill newspaper urging the U.S. House to follow the Senate’s lead and pass a bipartisan Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill. The House bill has been held up by a controversial proposal to place the nation’s air-traffic control system under the authority of a special nongovernmental entity. Pompeo and Larsen called for abandoning the reform so the bill can advance. “It’s time for the House to act,” they wrote. – Phillip Brownlee
