First Pluto was declassified as a planet. Now we find out the Earth revolves around Donald Trump. I can’t take much more of this.
Donald Trump will never be able to put the interests of our country above his own interests and prejudices.
Let me see if I have this right. Attorney General Loretta Lynch will soon need to decide whether or not to indict Hillary Clinton. Lynch works for Barack Obama, who is campaigning on behalf of Clinton. I’m sure that Lynch will make an unbiased and nonpolitical decision. Yeah, right.
Rep. Tim Huelskamp must be desperate to be running campaign ads already. Shouldn’t there be a limit on these? There should be a way to block this self-congratulatory nonsense.
Let me understand this. Kansas liquor store owners pay a whopping $250 for a license that allows them to conduct business protected from real competition, pay minimum wages to their employees and rarely, if ever, have advertising expenses. What a sweet deal.
Wichitans who have the authority and good ol’ common sense should be doing everything possible to keep our schools open. Open your eyes, minds and hearts.
Does a school district of fewer than 300 students need its own highly paid superintendent? Districts in lesser-populated counties could certainly share one. Leave more funding for students and the individuals who actually work with them.
Beware of “benefits” staged to raise money for people in need. I contributed to someone who claimed to be destitute because of mounting doctor bills. I’ve seen this rather happy person eating out on several occasions. If you’re supposedly so poor, stay home and eat Cheerios.
The Wichita Symphony played “America the Beautiful” at Riverfest, and as the words “crown thy good with brotherhood” ran in my mind I reflected on how brotherhood is apparently no longer an American value. Just listen to Trump, any reality show and the Kansas Legislature.
The Wichita Riverfest is nine days of fun. The music has been great.
