Opinion Line Extra (June 8)

Any party or candidate who stuffs my mailbox with mailers or who robocalls my telephone will automatically lose my vote.

Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges signed an ordinance mandating 48 hours of paid sick leave annually there for companies with more than six employees. Just what our struggling economy needs. Why are Democrats so addicted to giving away other people’s money?

Most likely, shutting down public schools would be the best thing for Kansas’ future. Get education out of the hands of lefty-loony liberals and children have a chance.

Gov. Sam Brownback has bankrupted Kansas, and this is nothing compared with what will happen to this country if Trump gets elected. Wake up, America. There are good Republicans out there, and even some of the bad ones won’t support Trump. What does that tell you? Vote Democrat.

So Donald Trump is enraged that the press questions him about money raised for veterans. That’s what a narcissistic dictator who thinks he’s God does. “How dare you question me? How dare you try to hold me accountable?”

The best commercial against Trump will be one that uses all his ignorant remarks in a video collage with the words over his picture at the end, “Really?”

Whenever the Donald is screeching on TV, I just want to hug the inventor of the mute button on my remote.

Famous people have stated that “if so-and-so is elected president, I will move my family out of the USA.” Now employees of our government assigned to a foreign embassy may be thinking, “If Hillary is elected president, I will move my family back to the USA.”

Scuttlebutt is that Obama is going to apologize to the Japanese for Pearl Harbor.

The haters who hate Obama complain mindlessly about his visit to Hiroshima. Where were they 31 years ago when their hero Reagan visited Bitburg, a German graveyard, honoring buried Nazi SS?

The Cincinnati Zoo people absolutely did the right thing. A 3-year-old boy’s life was in serious danger. Any person who loves animals also feels a loss for the gorilla, so can we stop with the political cartoons picturing this sad event as something other than what it was.

Isolating elephants and moving them to someplace foreign to them, unnecessarily killing gorillas, spending hundreds of millions on the captivity of animals when our veterans are in desperate need. Do zoos educate? Yes, they educate and inform us of the disrespect, harm and cruelty humans can inflict on animals.
