Wichita State needs to get in a real league. The Missouri Valley Conference is a joke. WSU beating Drake by 34 points is just embarrassing.
I hate that WSU and KU have been so disloyal to their fans statewide by selling exclusive TV rights to so many games to Cox Cable, meaning thousands of people cannot see them. I hate Cox even more, by the way.
This whole “Deflategate” thing shines a bright light on the total absurdity of America’s obsession with a stupid game.
“Deflategate,” the lead story of all three TV channels Friday night, is probably the least important issue in the universe.
When gasoline prices spike and start coming down the next day, as they have twice in two weeks, that’s pure profiteering, not related to normal market forces. When are our business reporters going to tell us who’s behind these bogus price hikes and why they keep trying?
How do we know that organic food is actually organic food?
President Obama’s touted success in Yemen just collapsed, and nobody should be surprised.
Obama’s policies have lost Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Pakistan and now Yemen to radical Muslims. His policies are nonexistent. He can’t express the direction his administration is going in this part of the world. Now he is trying to destroy our relationship with a our allies France, Israel, etc.
Promoting private schools is an effective method of getting around the president’s social programs and injecting one’s own version of family values.
This would be a good time for the Kansas Legislature to change the title of Kansas secretary of state to the Kansas secretary of silly talk. Kris Kobach is like a Monty Python character gone mad. His spotlight gets dimmer each time he opens his mouth.
I’m surprised The Eagle’s Rhonda Holman and Richard Crowson found time to trash our new County Commission amid all the Brownback bashing. Nice to see something different for a change. I wonder how loud they will scream when we elect a rational City Council.
It’s always funny that when the election is over and Sam Brownback is full steam ahead, no one admits to voting for him. When anyone complains, that is the first question I ask.
The state’s Democrats claim raising taxes on cigarettes and booze would harm the poor. If “the poor” are buying cigarettes and booze, then obviously they are not that poor, because neither is necessary to sustain life.
Ah, yes – if racism didn’t exist, the pols and the media would have to invent it. It looks like the only reason most of them have to have a job.
If we can fly and operate unmanned airplanes, why bother with the expense and danger of a manned flight to Mars?
