Opinion Line Extra (June 2)

Congratulations, Gov. Sam Brownback and legislators. You have convinced two more of my friends that it is not worth living in Kansas anymore. They’ve decided to move to a friendlier place.

Nothing offends a progressive like progress. Ironic.

Those who believe in global warming will learn too late that it has nothing to do with the environment but everything to do with money, power and control over the population. Are they so arrogant that they really believe humans can change the weather?

The “Wheel of Fortune” TV show is late-night TV for older people.

Our TV shows have replaced encouraging heavy smoking with encouraging heavy drinking. The networks should back off all the encouragement to drink alcohol.

The Sedgwick County Zoo does not mistreat its elephants. Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus did. Big difference.

I was very disappointed in the Wichita Art and Book Fair this year. It was very small, and I couldn’t even find participating artists listed. It has been lackluster since separating from Riverfest.
