Opinion Line Extra (June 1)

We could easily shorten airline passenger lines at airports if the airlines would make more lines. This should be the responsibility of the airlines. Don’t let them ask the federal government to do it.

Ron White must have coined the phrase “You can’t fix stupid” after watching people here drive into flooded streets.

Obama can’t get any rah-rahs in the United States of America, so he has to travel to all these foreign countries, on our taxpayer dollars, to act like the good guy while bashing people here who just want our country great again.

Given his prepared speech in North Dakota, Donald Trump has proved himself to be just another climate moron.

I love how the governor and the Republicans in the Legislature blame the state Supreme Court for the school-funding fiasco. In reality, all they have to do is look in the mirror to see who caused this problem.

We definitely are facing an education crisis in Kansas. Several highly educated lawyers (on the state Supreme Court) believe “equitable” is spelled “m-o-r-e $.”

Instead of complying with the Constitution and funding our schools properly, and instead of expanding Medicaid so people don’t die and the state doesn’t lose more federal dollars, our Legislature wants to use the “sine die” session to take up a bathroom resolution. Makes me proud to be a Kansan.

The Kansas legislators have been relieved of the great pressure of passing a bathroom resolution in their “sine die” session since the schools will close July 1 anyway.

Nobody is forcing you to pay only what’s asked of you in taxes. You can always give more of your money to the government if you want to. Put your money where your mouth is. Or is it only others’ money you want to see taken and wasted?

Republicans as a group now seem to be mostly self-serving radicals, pushing their self-serving solutions on the rest of us for petty problems that didn’t exist in the first place.

Funny how liberals can incite violence without media coverage, but if Republicans mention “pro-life,” the media immediately label them as bigots.

Is it a wise use of tax money to keep patching 15 feet of street that has deteriorated so badly it should be replaced?

I wish that the TV stations would report the news of what has happened instead of speculation of what is to come. They can eliminate all the “coming up” teases, too. They frequently spend more time on these teases than the actual report.
