If we ban Syrian refugees on the slight chance that they could be terrorists, we should ban the sale of guns to white males, since there is a chance they will be involved in mass shootings.


Socialism leads to communism just as marijuana leads to heroin.


I worry about how Kansans will vote in November. Those in Wichita, Kansas City and Lawrence tend to think and vote with foresight and intelligence. But the craziness of Kansans who vote Republican regardless of compelling truths and solid facts really scares me.


I met Rep. Tim Huelskamp’s “Big First” GOP challenger, Great Bend physician Roger Marshall, and there is real hope the embarrassment we have suffered since Huelskamp got elected can end. Kansas deserves so much better.

The City Council had the opportunity to put a convention hotel and casino in downtown Wichita and didn’t do it. Now a City Council member is complaining because the Kansas Star is taking the conventions. The city of Wichita messed up, so live with it.


Well, the Bible thumpers in Oklahoma had their abortion bill vetoed. What’s next? A law requiring mandatory Christianity and mandatory church attendance under penalty of death? Or reinstating Prohibition?


The truth of Hillary Clinton’s statement that “I don’t want any risk of the personal being accessible” should be the downfall of her campaign, because her focus was not what was good for the U.S. and protecting our national secrets but what was best for her.


The most dangerous place in America is columnist Leonard Pitts’ brain (“No, Trump, most dangerous place in world isn’t Ferguson,” May 23 Opinion). Pitts is the No. 1 race-baiter in the country.


Really, Wichita? Are you too stupid to know how to recycle? I have seen old paint cans, mattresses, used tires and a refrigerator left at Dillons’ recycling containers. Dillons does our community a favor by recycling our items. Stop being stupid.
