Until the teachers in this state have the guts to withhold services, they are going to be bullied by petty tyrants like Gov. Sam Brownback, and students are going to suffer.

Seriously, USD 259? A wage cut for some of the lowest-paid employees on the salary scale? Where’s the public outrage? Why not let the highest-paid administrators take a pay cut? This district is messed up.

We should look at the sunny side. At least the Brownback administration has accomplished one thing: It has aborted any hope for the U.S. presidency that may have been one of Brownback’s many delusions.

I marvel at all the negative comments regarding Brownback. Despite his first-term failures, Kansans re-elected him in 2014. Quit whining. He’s yours and you own him.

Thanks to Cargill for continuing to call Wichita home. Cargill is a valuable corporate citizen and an integral part of this community, so kudos to the governor, mayor and local economic development groups for working with the company as it continues to thrive in Wichita.

Wichita finally saved 900 Cargill jobs. The other 18,000 we lost beginning with the Spirit divestiture still put us way behind. Many people just left town. Let’s hope this is a small start to regaining jobs and people.

Christians are being crucified, burned alive, beheaded and murdered in other unspeakable ways daily. While protecting the rights and safety of peaceful Muslims in the U.S and Europe, and accepting every Muslim refugee from terrorist countries, how about we address actual genocide of Christians by the Islamic State?

Obama says world leaders are rattled at the prospect of President Trump. They should be. After eight years of walking all over us and getting whatever they want, they are losing their doormat. They should be as rattled as the Soviets and Iranians were when Ronald Reagan was elected.

Any presidential candidate who resorts to childish name-calling only shows that he is not fit to be president.

I see the presidential candidate on TV making a speech. I see illegals flying a Mexican flag, attacking people to disrupt the rally. This makes my blood boil. What has America become by condoning actions like this? I guess l wasted my time in the military, protecting our country.

Thank you, Opinion Line, for reminding me that strongly held opinions are often completely independent of any actual knowledge about the subject.

Unfortunately, colleges graduated millions again this year who can’t balance their own budgets and don’t know what directional signals are used for.

I just walked through the neighborhood with shorts on for the first time this year. Three people called the police and said they thought they saw a ghost.
