Imagine a City Council member whining about the casino taking away conventions and acts from Wichita. The people of Sedgwick County are to blame for this, because they voted not to have gambling.

The Kansas Star Casino might as well be in Sedgwick County, as close as it is. To all of the people who voted it down: I hope you know what a disservice to Sedgwick County you did. So it has shows – well, too bad.

The paper frequently reports on armed robberies, home invasions and shootings on the street. Personally, I think it pretty foolhardy to rely on our overworked and understaffed police department to protect you and yours.

Rudy Giuliani demonstrated that cracking down on “the little things” leads to an overall reduction in crime. Just cracking down on the unbelievable number of gross traffic violations I see around here every day would do wonders for Wichita.

I love watching the Clintons on TV. That Hillary is the really funny one. What is bankrupting the country is the Federal Resankrupting the country is the Federal Reserve, which is run by international bankers and keeps printing money. It won’t be Trump.

Hillary seems to think that if Donald were our president, he would bankrupt the country. Seems to me the country is only three words away from bankruptcy: “Pay us now,” said by everyone we owe money.

Trump is now calling Sen. Sanders “Crazy Bernie.” A common response to being called crazy is, “It takes one to know one.” But such a statement doesn’t apply in this situation. For it to be true, Bernie would have to be crazy, too, which he is not.

The nuclear bombing of Japan is just as indefensible as the invasion of Iraq.

Anyone who did not live during World War II just cannot understand our decision to use the atom bomb on Japan. More than 400,000 Americans were already dead, and an invasion of Japan was estimated to add another 100,000. It was payback time for Pearl Harbor. Remember Pearl Harbor?

Veterans Affairs Secretary Bob McDonald compared veterans’ waiting lists for medical care to waiting in line for a ride at Disneyland, knowing that veterans die waiting for care. This is the contempt Democrats have for the military and veterans.

Funny how an atheist applies the Bible to a Christian’s way of life, and suddenly it doesn’t count.

Shouldn’t mail carriers who are quasi-federal employees be setting a good example by not having their brain attached to a cellphone while driving?
