We need to eliminate the Electoral College, get rid of caucuses, determine winners by the popular vote, dump superdelegates and make Election Day a national holiday.

I saw a young man walk out of a convenience store without paying for his soda. As he drove away I noticed his Bernie Sanders sticker on the truck, and realized he just thought someone else was going to pay for it.

Sanders’ backers believe that in a pure democracy there’s no room for politics – especially the kind of fancy politics the Clintons are really good at. Some people do what’s right. Sadly, others think it’s enough, or even a little fancy, to simply not do what’s illegal.

You know how this Donald Trump thing ends, don’t you? We get beaten in a war.

The Justice Department of the Democrat Gestapo says that you can walk into any restroom, at any time you feel like it. How’s that Obama hope and change working for you? Just one more reason Trump and congressional term limits are the only choice.

Gov. Sam Brownback whines about “an unprecedented example of executive overreach” and “attempt to federalize local school board decisions,” while he and his minions steal power from local governments to consolidate it in Topeka. What a pathetic hypocrite.

Perhaps Brownback should fix the roads and schools in Kansas and get Mexico to pay for it.

Great. Now that Brownback is done vandalizing K-12 education, he has moved on to pillaging state universities.

College students need to boycott the state universities. The best way to get Brownback, his flock of sheep and school administrators to listen is to vote with your dollars. Drop out for six months to a year. They will change the tune.

When Brownback makes his merciful exit, it will be too late to save the neglected citizens, broken roads and broke new college graduates he leaves behind. It could take decades to crawl out of the abyss he has thrown Kansas into.

It is more than overdue that everyone be required to register for the draft. Actually, two years of public service should be required if we are ever to regain pride in the U.S., versus the hate and bigotry now prevalent everywhere.

China is now replacing the cheap labor it stole from us with robots, and U.S. hamburger flippers want $15 per hour. Robotic flippers are on the way.

Crimes such as larceny, burglary and purse snatching affect everyone. I wonder whether Chief Gordon Ramsay is using the police force wisely. At work we are told to think out of the box. I hope the Police Department will move toward being proactive rather than reactive.

District Attorney Marc Bennett wants $182,200 more to hire two lawyers to review police camera footage. He can hire two individuals who know police procedures for half that, and then forward any illegal procedures they find for further review. Quit wasting money.
