Donald Trump is a horrible human being I don’t trust on any issue that is important to me. But other than that, I guess I could vote for him.

Here we go again. Trump now wants to have talks with Kim Jong Un. Did Trump look into Kim’s eyes on TV and see his soul? I’m sure that Kim would prefer Trump show good faith and come by himself for tea talks on waterboarding.

I’m sick of the media covering for Republican voters with this anti-establishment candidate nonsense. Truth is, they were finally given a racist, dog-whistling bigot who speaks at a third-grade level and spews feel-good solutions to complex problems. Republican voters have been begging for a candidate like Trump for years.

Of course Barack Obama thinks it’s OK to have transgender bathrooms in public schools. His daughters are in private schools.

Years ago we had trickle-down economics. Now we have trickle-down entitlements.

Why is homelessness up in Wichita seven years after the recession supposedly ended? Obama said the economy was good and millions of jobs have been created. Then why are there more homeless people?

What we don’t have is a failure to communicate. What we do have is a governor who is wholly incapable of accepting reality, and may not even be capable of rational thought. Failure is failure.

For years the Republicans have championed small government and low or no taxes. In Kansas, they got their way when the governor and Legislature implemented their policies. But now we know it doesn’t work. Thanks for trying, but let’s get back to sensible government.

Now greed has killed Metro-Meridian Alternative High School, where I received the support I required 27 years ago. I am now a successful and productive professional holding a bachelor’s and two master’s degrees. Why do so many Kansans vote like they hate education?

How typical of the Wichita school board to consider outsourcing only “custodial management, chemicals and equipment.” A true privatization of custodial services would include employees – the real savings. And why isn’t the outsourcing in the first phase of cuts? The board can’t make the tough decision.

I wonder if in about the fifth second of a bull ride, the cowboy is thinking, “There has to be an easier way of making a living.”

A Kansas boy, Dusty Kleiss, the last hero of the renowned Battle of Midway, recently left us at 100. Thank you, Dusty.
