Opinion Line Extra (May 21)

As far as I can tell from Bernie Sanders’ campaign promises, he thinks socialism is some sort of magic spell where you get things for free.

The strength of Sanders’ candidacy is the “millennial.” These individuals are the fruit of poor education, nay, pop culture “noneducation” – those people who believe you can get something, anything, for nothing. You can for awhile, but not much, and not for long. Eventually you have nothing at all, except chaos.

History will reveal that the 2016 presidential campaign was actually a freak show where those voting for Donald Trump got a front-row seat.

The Republican Party’s refusal to represent the people is why it’s going to lose the White House again. I suggest Republicans ask themselves why they’ve cashed their paychecks for the past eight years in the do-nothing and block-everything House and Senate. Hello?

Get rid of the Electoral College? It gives the lower-population states a little power and protection against the bozos in the highest-population states.

Now Gov. Sam Brownback tells us that Donald Trump is Obama’s fault. What’s next? Earthquakes in Kansas: Obama’s fault. Golf ball-size hail and thunderstorms: Obama’s fault. More than 300,000 business owners paying no state income tax: now that must be Obama’s fault.

Brownback is making it difficult to fund a proper education for the children of Kansas, and Secretary of State Kris Kobach is going to appeal the latest ruling against him. Where is Kobach getting funds to make his appeal?

We lack real leaders. What we have is tax-money bleeders. There isn’t a Band-Aid big enough to stop the hemorrhaging in Topeka.

The pro-abortion ad by the Freedom From Religion Foundation in the Sunday Eagle showed only that its leaders have no knowledge of the bad kings of Israel, the warnings of the prophets, the creation of man, or any part of salvation history, or they would not have used those Bible quotes.

If you’ve ever used a porta-potty, you’ve used a bathroom that was unisex, all-sex, gay, lesbian, transgender, transsexual, male, female, conservative, liberal., etc. – everything but idiot-proof, odor-free and sanitary.

Other than LSU football and the Kentucky Derby, I’m not a knowledgeable sports fan. Why can’t the quarterback of each team have the football aired to his specifications? If this were the rule, there would be no fuss about overinflated or underinflated footballs. I don’t get it.

It doesn’t take much water and just a modicum of stupidity to stall out a vehicle.
