Has the Kansas Department of Transportation run out of money? We have been waiting for our state income tax refund for more than a month.

So Bill Self is an LLC. How many workers has he hired? How much has he expanded his business? Thanks, Sam Brownback.

If we want people like Self to pay their fair share, then flat-tax everyone, 5 percent state and 10 percent federal. No exceptions or write-offs, whether you own a business or punch a clock every day. Pitting one class of citizen against another is getting us nowhere but mad.

If Brownback jumped aboard a runaway train and stopped it just before it reached Deadman’s Curve, I suspect the headlines and newscasts would be, “Brownback Disrupts Transportation System; Many Late for Work.”

Have you ever noticed at this time of year, thousands of young people graduate from schools, some with high honors? And notice how the vast majority of them are from public schools. Yes, public schools. Evidence that public schools are doing a lot of things right.

When will we realize that our public educational system is irreparable? Education has not changed for the better but has gone the other way. We need to go back to the basics. Truth. Ethics. Self-control. Real respect for others. Honesty. Bravery. The rule of law.

Kansas needs to keep common sense and adhere to reality: A man is a man and a woman is a woman. I don’t want males spying on my two granddaughters “legally” at the bathroom.

Changing the sex on birth certificates should not be done. Stick with the sex notation you were born with as listed honestly on your birth certificate. If you insist on an artificial update, do it with a separate addendum so the original information remains correct.

I totally support the efforts being made to provide equal rights to the LGBT community. However, if the sex is changed on a birth certificate and a transgender person is involved in DNA testing later, won’t legal identification be hindered?

So it was OK for Bill Clinton to fool around when he was president, but it’s not OK for Donald Trump to fool around as a private citizen? Give me a break.

Word has it that Trump will pick his phony publicist John Miller for his vice president.
