The primary reason Gov. Sam Brownback’s policies have placed him 50th on the list of respected governors is because there are only 50 states.

Brownback is correct in trying to increase employment in Kansas by decreasing the months allowed to receive welfare. Since so much dishonesty is within that system, forcing users to actually work jobs could make a difference. Why not?

Kansas is on the verge of becoming another Mississippi.

It is dishonest and immoral to tell people to switch political parties to skew their results in primaries. It goes both ways, Democrats.

Considering how unconcerned some people are about coming to work, be they FMLA abusers, the habitually late or the no-shows, it’s refreshing to see someone take pride in coming to work every day. Kudos to Sophia Curtis of North High (May 16 Eagle). Now please take that much-deserved vacation.

Great article about the high school cafeteria worker. This is why it is a huge mistake to privatize school workers. Our kids need to be around adults like Sophia Curtis who care about their jobs and the kids. Do not replace custodial and other staff with low-wage, high-turnover people.

For the first time in two years, I recently saw someone openly carrying a weapon, and do you know what happened? Nothing. No quick draw, no gunfight in the street, no celebratory firing of dozens of rounds into the air. I’m noticing the anti-gun nuts were so wrong.

Carrying a gun is dangerous. Carrying a gun in a crowd of people is stupid. Congratulations to the 2016 graduating class of Augusta High School. You not only made it to graduation, you survived.

Ten years ago a shooting like the one at Augusta High’s commencement would not have happened. When you regress to the laws of the 1800s, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see there will be more gun-related problems.

Only in 2016 America can you find so many conservatives claiming to love their country while hating almost everyone in it.

Based on the behavior of many Democrat thugs at Donald Trump rallies, the Democratic Party’s motto should be: “We Hate America.”
