The current airport is old but functional. The Chamber of Commerce wants to eliminate the “fair fares” program, which might lead Southwest to leave. The new airport is paid for with rents and user fees. Less traffic means less money from fees. Remind me why we needed a new airport.

So we have another group of legislators who yet again trash teacher pensions but have no problem collecting their own. No wonder they want to cut school funding: They don’t want kids to learn the definition of words like “irony” and “hypocrite.”

“Reproductive justice” – hmm. I guess placing the word “justice” at the end of something means all of us have to give it to you for free.

Why does Sam Brownback smile as he takes the word “choice” from Kansas women’s vocabulary?

Brownback knew from the beginning that his income tax cuts would create a revenue problem for the state. How else was he to stop out-of-control spending?

The government is run by people who are well-off, mostly business owners, doctors, lawyers, the upper class. So why wouldn’t the tax system be slanted in their favor?

Typical Republican move – reduce taxes on those who can afford them while increasing taxes on people who can’t. No wonder this state faces a $700 million budget deficit. You re-elected Brownback.

Does Obama plan on completely abandoning the U.S. military base at Gitmo or just releasing all the terrorists?

Do you suppose Obama missed the Paris march on purpose so he would have something else to apologize for?

Obama and the American left will not rest until every person in America who draws a paycheck is working for the federal government in the form of European-style taxes. Our purpose in life is not to fund the government.

Obama keeps trying to find new ways to spend money we don’t have. His idea to tax people who are successful to hand out money to more of the middle class is merely a “bread and circuses” substitute for his failure to create good-paying jobs for upward mobility.

I’m so tired of hearing on the news of traffic accidents caused by weather. No, they were caused by inattentive drivers. Why are police, fire and other emergency vehicles able to drive to the scene without crashing? Nothing more than morons behind the wheel.

Could Delano and Valley Center take down their Christmas decorations? And, Valley Center – fix potholes on Meridian and residential streets.
