Opinion Line Extra (May 12)

Every four years it seems I’m having to hold my nose and vote against someone rather than for someone. Not this year. It’s my vote to give, and I elect to keep it this year and vote my principles.

That anyone would vote for crooked Hillary Clinton just shows the moral decay and shamelessness of America.

Go ahead and vote for Hillary and get the same old change Obama gave you.

Ben Rhodes gleefully told his story how the White House led the national press down the path of misdirection on the Iran nuclear deal and other major issues. I seriously hope they use this stunning embarrassment to actually become the watchdogs of truth again instead of Obama cheerleaders.

Republicans to Obama: Like it or not, you are stuck with Hillary. Doesn’t get any worse than that.

Donald Trump’s policy positions change depending on who’s asking the questions. Thus, voters don’t know what they’re getting with Trump, because he has few core principles other than “Trump first.”

Perhaps this country’s simpletons thinking it’s a bad thing Trump is not a career politician can explain their logic to the rest of us, considering we’ve had more than 100 years of almost nothing but career politicians, and now we’re dangerously close to going down the proverbial toilet.

Being transgender must be something new. People have figured out which bathroom to use for hundreds of years without the government getting involved. Get over it.

Trump should choose the Kansas Republican governor, Brownback, as his vice president. He has followed the Republican playbook in the state. He would assure the state for Trump, because the people here fall for anything with an “R” beside the name.

High taxes and utility rates, poor economy, cuts to education, no new roads or bridges, decreased health care for the poor and disabled, a state in deeper debt, and now he wants to take away our clean air. I think we have had enough of Sam Brownback’s gifts to Kansas.

A letter writer was wrong (“Real bleeding,” May 9 Letters to the Editor). Kansas is drowning in red ink. We have already taken the first steps of heading down the same trail as Detroit and Puerto Rico.

Anyone who condones the Kansas Republican legislators and their ringleader Brownback deserves a summons to leave. Our state and our country don’t need anyone like that.

It’s ironic how liberals want to be so revolutionary, but at the same time support ideology from the 19th century.
