Did Obama voters realize his “transformation” would include the government opening up restrooms for use by either sex?

Rather than suing everybody over the transgender bathroom issue, why doesn’t the federal government just try to work with the states to come to a workable solution? Oh, that’s right – they are the all-knowing. “Just bow down and pay your taxes.”

Great article on the cost and design of the planned new library (May 2 Eagle). Will $20 million-plus be sufficient for all kinds of bathrooms – straight, gay, trans, religious, agnostic, liberal, conservative, bigoted, prudish, “true” American, foreign, “handicapable” and so on?

Judging from The Eagle’s full story in the April 24 paper, Oxford House looks more like long-term low-income housing than a short-term recovery program aimed at integration into mainstream society.

Dear diary: Today I watched a reality show where conservative Republicans threw up their “deeply held religious convictions” after eating Trump pie.

Donald Trump does not have to have a “plan” now for anything. He just needs to get elected, hire the best people and implement the best plan they come up with. Anything he might do to climb out of the mess Democrats have made would be an improvement.

Poor Carly Fiorina hitched her wagon to a falling star.

So the governor and his minions are creating yet another way for Kansans to murder, maim and harm each other (“Bill allowing public employees to carry guns approved,” May 2 Eagle). How can they call themselves “pro-life” when guns are considered the answer to everything?

As a 72-year-old retiree of USD 259 who involuntarily paid into the KPERS retirement fund for 31 years, I not only resent Brownback’s tampering with KPERS but am terrified of it. And now the Legislature escapes fiscal responsibility by turning further financial decisions over to the man himself. Insane.

I have always voted for school bond issues. However, next time I’m going to remember the new Southeast High School. It should have been left where it was. It seems like a terrible waste of money, and not particularly beneficial to the students in that part of town.

One time I was playing golf when it started hailing – big stuff, golf ball-size hail. Not only was it dangerous, but it was really confusing.
