Can someone tell me why we elect legislators if they are just going to give the governor the green light to establish his own budget? Totally blows my mind.

If legislators just made the LLC and S-corporations pay $1,000 in taxes, that would be $330 million, and an answer to the budget deficit without robbing Peter to pay Paul.

The wimps in the Legislature draft laws during the session to protect their role, yet in the end kick the can to Brownback and Shawn Sullivan.

Iranian moderates recently won the largest number of seats in parliament, marking a shift away from hard-liners who took over the country some 40 years ago. Hopefully, moderates will do the same this November in Kansas.

Why are transgender bathrooms even an issue? How many public bathrooms are lockable, one person at a time? Problem solved. The only ones making this an issue are the ones who want to scare the public, like they do with all their issues.

Revamping the KTA Southern Terminal to allow K-TAG use at highway speeds is a great thing that is long overdue. However, every tollgate in Kansas should be the same. The South Wichita toll plaza is a disaster not waiting to happen but happening.

To the contributor who “would give odds that most all racists voted Republican in 2008 and 2012”: You do realize that the Ku Klux Klan was founded by Democrats, right? And all of the horrific government policies that have kept blacks poor and in the ghettos were Democrat initiatives.

I am sick of the ranting about Hillary Clinton’s hair, clothes or e-mails. I would like more investigation into the 13 deadly attacks on our embassies during the Bush years, and all the other folks who used private e-mail, like the state budget director. But that’s all Republican, so it will never happen.

Obama doesn’t love this country, but the people supporting and voting for Trump en masse do. That’s it in a nutshell.

I miss the good old days when the furniture stores used to run advertisements stating, “We will have police on site to direct traffic.” They don’t do that anymore. Are they not discounting furniture as much as they used to?
