The big news of the interview with Koch Industries chief executive Charles Koch on ABC News’ “This Week” was his saying “it’s possible” a President Hillary Clinton would be better than a Republican. Jonathan Karl’s question about what the Kochs have gotten for the hundreds of millions of dollars they’ve spent on electoral politics brought a response of special interest in Koch’s home city and state. Koch said: “There have been some good things, particularly at the state and local level. But the national politics has been disappointing.” Remember that Koch Cos. Public Sector spent more than $1 million to defeat a proposed 1-cent citywide sales tax in Wichita in 2014. And at the Statehouse, Koch-backed groups and politicians have had great success in passing and defending the state income tax exemption for some businesses, ending the renewable-energy mandate and blocking Medicaid expansion. – Rhonda Holman
