The office of Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Wichita, says the congressman has held “a lot more” than the two town halls credited to him for 2016 by the website LegiStorm (“Moran, Huelskamp, Jenkins rank high for town halls,” April 17 Now Consider This). Jim Richardson, Pompeo’s chief of staff, told The Eagle editorial board that Pompeo doesn’t call them “town halls” but frequently meets with people in community and business settings and also holds telephone forums. LegiStorm calls its tracking of town halls “comprehensive,” but Richardson suggested it “doesn’t capture whether you’re in the community and accessible and out there interfacing with your constituents.” – Rhonda Holman
