Opinion Line Extra (April 15)
Years ago you had to buy a tag for your bicycle in Wichita. Since the bikes need special painted lanes, people should buy a tag to pay for the paint.
If there was any question the state is trying to destroy the public schools, it’s been answered by a Legislature that wants tax money to go to private schools and no state money for public school administration, sports, band and lunches. Shame on the lot of them.
Bottom line – Rep. Mike Pompeo is the hero, not the villain; the Islamic Society of Wichita was in the wrong, not the victim. The speaker supports Hamas, a terrorist group killing Jews and Christians. He shouldn’t be welcomed in our community.
If Pompeo and his supporters have “factual proof” about the canceled speaker and his association with terrorism, why hasn’t he been arrested? And a still unanswered question: Why didn’t Pompeo just call the Islamic Society with his concerns? He obviously preferred fearmongering.
It seems to me that Pompeo was standing with a group of extremists threatening violence when he didn’t remind them that this is the United States, where people are free to speak even if you don’t agree with what they have to say.
Stop complaining about the presidential candidates. You chose them. I’m not a Republican, but Jeb Bush – a quiet, thinking governor – was never seriously considered while Donald Trump – a big mouth who’s never held an elected public office – is way ahead. Wow.

Energy giant Peabody Energy filing bankruptcy. American Apparel laying off hundreds of employees. The Obama economy continues humming along, and the EPA division of the Obama gestapo continues its efforts to support that agenda.
After seeing what Democrats have done to America over the past 50 years, how can anyone possibly vote Democrat? Or socialist?
Seems to me there are more quality Democrats coaching in the NFL than there are currently running for president.
At a wedding about 40 years ago, the wedding couple received a small statue of a bride and groom with these words: “Congratulations and good luck on amateur night.” That statue is no longer produced. I wonder why.
Should you have to take someone to court to get them to stop posting naked pictures of you that they stole?
