Area lawmakers to face public before wrap-up session

Sen. Michael O’Donnell, R-Wichita, who chairs the south-central Kansas legislative delegation, continues to make good on his commitment to have the delegation hold regular public forums, which had dwindled to one a year. The next one will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Wichita State University’s Hughes Metropolitan Complex, 29th Street North and Oliver. Lawmakers again will answer questions submitted in writing at the event. Such gatherings not only provide the public face-to-face updates on pending legislative issues, but can give constituents insight into lawmakers’ priorities in this election year. – Rhonda Holman
