It is a shame that we, as humans, find ways to kill each other daily, but cannot manage to eradicate the miserable, worthless mosquito.


The controls on liquor sales were put in place because alcohol was and is the most harmful legal drug you can buy without a prescription. Convenience should not trump safety.


In regard to police shooting an unarmed person, if you weren’t there personally to see exactly what happened then don’t comment on it as if you were.


Common sense – I don’t care what color your skin is, don’t break the law and you won’t put yourself and others at risk. If you do find yourself in a situation, do as officers say.


Paul Ryan says there’s too much work to do in the House for him to accept the Republican nomination for president. OK, when are he, the other Republicans and, yes, even the Democrats planning on going to work?


Did you know that Donald Trump is running for president? You would barely know it by listening to the radio or TV. They only mention it about 10 times a minute.


Would someone please tell Donald Trump that “no whining” should have been taught to him when he was a child? I guess if you are from a wealthy family, it is never taught. Affluenza?


Heaven help us when the Republicans run out of groups to demonize.


I keep hearing about all these proposed cuts to schools except in administration. Do we really need more than one principal per school or so many paper pushers in the administrative building?


How to trim $12 million from the Wichita school district budget: Stop educating foreigners for “free.” Stop feeding schoolkids multiple meals a day for “free.” Stop paying for translators. Stop wasting money on sports. Make parents pay their fair share for their own kids.


What a great idea for USD 259 to stick it to Brownback with a four-day week. This would attract national attention to his failed tax policies and how they have bankrupted our state. Topeka would be shamed into reversing them.


Spending on education has increased every year during Sam Brownback’s governorship. Maybe not in the areas desired by Democrats, but increased spending nonetheless.


Does Tommy John get a royalty for every surgery done in his name?
