Another unarmed person reportedly holding his hands in the air gets shot by police, and once more it is found to be self-defense and no charges filed against the officer. Why is this always the outcome of these “investigations”?
It is good to know that in Wichita, as in many other U.S. cities, it is apparently OK to shoot and kill an unarmed man as long as the shooter is wearing police blue.
If black lives matter, then why aren’t Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and their little group demonstrating daily instead of only after a white police officer is forced to shoot a black person? That makes a thinking person question their motives and agenda.
It must frustrate Donald Trump no end that he can’t negotiate his way to a majority of delegates for the GOP convention.
The only lying going on in the Republican presidential race is coming from “Lyin’ Donald” Trump, who has said he was for both sides of a single political issue in the same sentence.
So the Islamic Society of Wichita wanted to bring a Hamas-connected speaker, Mike Pompeo speaks out, and he is the bad guy? All Kansans, of all religions, should be thanking Pompeo for standing up against violent extremists.
So Pompeo may run against Sen. Jerry Moran? Arrogant and political suicide.
Regarding a letter complaining about obituary photos: If the family wants to use a younger picture of the deceased, then it should. Good grief – of all the things to be upset about, this isn’t one of them.
It is no one else’s business what photo is used in an obituary. What is wrong with showing a picture taken when a person was vibrant and healthy?
It was difficult to determine if Chapman Rackaway was being sarcastic (April 10 Opinion), but the idea of Gov. Sam Brownback being KSU president sends chills of horror through my body. I would have to disassociate myself from the university.
It’s very disappointing that The Wichita Eagle chose not to cover the Wichita Symphony’s performances of the Verdi Requiem. But then it is the arts and not sports.
