Opinion Line Extra (April 1)
When politicians of either party speak about being opposed to special interests, they are referring to those with interests that don’t reflect their own. In other words, anyone or any group that disagrees with their personal point of view.
Funny how hardly anyone will admit they ever voted for Obama.
See that our leader was apologizing to Argentina for something. Not sure what. While he is apologizing, he needs to include his employers, the American people.
Once again columnist Cal Thomas shows his lack of knowledge. “The jihadists have no laws controlling their behavior,” he wrote. I think he meant, “the United States government has no laws controlling its behavior.”
Corey Lewandowski is caught on camera lying about his assault on a female reporter, and the bandwagon fills with right-wing support. Hillary Clinton is accused of lying about Benghazi, and this same wagon is taking her to the next tree with rope in hand.
I am so relieved that Donald Trump is saying he will completely change his personality and “act more presidential” if elected. Otherwise, I would be worried.
Somewhere along the line we’ve forgotten that voting is a privilege, not a right. Worse, we think everyone should have that “right.” Those who contribute nothing, don’t work or pay taxes, and have no idea how our government works should not be allowed near a voting booth.
Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution stipulates that the president of the United States, “by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ... judges of the Supreme Court.” In this process, the Constitution stipulates a role neither for the Heritage Foundation nor the National Rifle Association.
Boycott Apple. The company is soft on national security.
As we continue down this dark road in Kansas, continuing to struggle to offer health care to all Kansans, senior aid denied, and now education cuts, we are on a very dangerous path. The time act is now. Impeach Brownback.
So the state GOP wants to avoid a tax debate because it’s a re-election year and it might hurt Republicans’ chances of re-election. If that’s not the reason to vote Brownback’s buffoons out of office and try for a positive change, I don’t know what is.
I heard a “sports talk show” host wax bizarre on school funding. To the simpleton, his diatribe seemed reasonable: “More money will fix it.” Negative, I say. Home-schooled children score higher than average on core academic skills. How much government dough do they use?
I would like to know how much wasted taxpayer time and money went into painting the unused bike lanes in downtown Wichita. Whoever came up with that brainstorm owes taxpayers big.
