Opinion Line Extra (March 29)

Both Donald Trump and John Kasich backed out of a Republican debate because they were afraid to debate Ted Cruz. Ted would destroy both of them.

Black Americans should certainly be for stopping illegal immigration, bringing jobs back from China and Mexico, charter schools, and rebuilding our infrastructure. Black Americans should be for Trump.

Little wonder Trump and Cruz are against Common Core, since they also love the less educated.

GOP leaders don’t like Trump because he won’t take orders. As the patriarch of the Republican Party, Wall Street wants a company man. Trump’s bigotry, misogyny and hatred of the poor have nothing to do with Trump’s disfavor. These are actually prominent parts of the party platform.

Someone claimed the notion of “separation of church and state” is constitutionally unfounded but then proposed “prevention of governmental interference in religion” as an alternative. This is also unfounded and only half right. The establishment clause means government should stay out of the religion business altogether.

Here’s an idea for a T-shirt for Shocker Nation (established 2012): “Impressive stats piled up playing in a very weak league. Oh, we upset KU.”
