Ty Masterson shouldn’t mix kids and guns, even rhetorically

In the last few days of the regular legislative session, fuses get short and words sharp. But Sen. Ty Masterson, R-Andover, charged across the line this week in griping about the Kansas Supreme Court’s June 30 deadline for lawmakers to ensure school funding is equitable. Managing to be offensive as well as unproductive and inaccurate, he said: “The courts now have a gun to the heads of the schoolchildren.” – Rhonda Holman
