Belgium has had some of the most liberal immigration policies in the world. Terrorists who were once welcomed with open arms are now bombing and killing. Let’s hope our country learns from Belgium’s mistakes.


While Brussels burned, Barack Obama fiddled around at a ballgame.


Obama called the Brussels attacks “outrageous.” Unbelievable. The Brussels attacks are war, and we must respond in kind against the ISIS homelands immediately with every weapon short of nuclear.


To this day Republicans applaud President Nixon going to China. But ask them about President Obama going to Cuba and they portray him as a traitor. They should be more consistent.


In the early hunter-gatherer days of mankind, if 1 percent of our species had hoarded 99 percent of the available bounty needed to survive, our species wouldn’t have survived. It’s no different today, and that’s why the grossly disproportionate concentration of wealth at the top can’t be allowed to continue.


Evidence of a declining American civilization: the rise of the NRA and the rise of Donald Trump. Heaven help our children.


To all you Trump protesters: You can block the roads and try to stop the rallies. However, you can’t stop us from voting. Get used to saying “President Trump.”


I wish we had more Sheriff Joe Arpaios. I would vote for a sales tax to support law enforcement and prisons.


Would someone please tell the candidates, public speakers and all other interviewees to stop using the phrase “at the end of the day”? I’m tired of hearing it.


Espousing supply-side economics is simply a matter of ignorance. Imposing them might well be fraud.


When are Spirit, Textron and other major taxpaying employers going to stand up to the idiots in Topeka and say “enough”? No one is going to move into Kansas with the major cuts to education and everything else that affects the quality of life here.


Rather than make all of the cuts to balance the Kansas budget by cutting school staff and teachers, why don’t we start by cutting the number of legislators?


I recall a time when after Shocker basketball we looked forward to Shocker baseball.
