Surely there is an unused school building in town that is in better condition than the current law officer training center and can be reconditioned for less than the $9.5 million cost of a new center.

It’s been 40 years since my generation thought we were on the verge of legalizing marijuana. I’ve raised four productive children, paid my taxes, been a great Kansan and, yes, smoked marijuana most of that time. So don’t you hypocrites tell me pot makes me lazy and stupid.

Deaths from opioids taken to relieve pain have exploded with the increase of prescriptions written. A safer, more effective way to address the problem would be for politicians to allow the use of medical marijuana.

We don’t need medical marijuana in this state. Just drink some of the Kool-Aid the Republicans are handing out.

What do the Titanic sinking, Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer at Little Bighorn, and Gov. Sam Brownback have in common?

Conservatives are plotting to stop Donald Trump from becoming their presidential candidate for 2016. If they succeed, the only thing they will accomplish is electing the first woman president. Exit Trump and enter Hillary.

One reason for Trump’s popularity is his ignoring of “political correctness” or thought policing, when a simple slip-of-the-tongue remark in even a private conversation can cost one her job and brand her as a racist, sexist, fanatic or worse.

Only in a biased media would Clinton and Sanders supporters who disrupt Trump rallies be blamed on Trump.

Those complaining about the Trump protesters were not upset when South Carolina congressman Joe Wilson interrupted the president’s health care speech to Congress in 2009 by shouting, “You lie!”

As a conservative, I am voting for Hillary Clinton. It is because Bill Clinton was the only president in modern times who had the guts to force Congress to balance the budget – something Congress seems to have forgotten how to do.

If I did what Clinton did, I would be incarcerated. If you did what Clinton did, you would be incarcerated. I am stunned that she has come this far in the campaigns. I cannot believe that she is not being held accountable.

All of the Republican candidates have signed a pledge to support the nominee. This is what is wrong with this party. They have said Donald Trump should not be president and are working against him, for good reason, but will still support him knowing he is bad for the country.
